My breasts are not my own. I had both of mine removed 9 years ago as a preventive measure. It was a drastic decision, it was a horrid surgery, and the recovery was grim - but it is a decision I do not regret.
October is #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth—and serves as a reminder of the power of early detection. Checking your breasts and chest regularly is essential. It takes just a moment but can truly save lives. Know the signs, feel empowered, and remind your loved ones to do the same.
