In 2020 I was one of 7 dems that won a district that Trump won, so I held a series of listening sessions with people who voted for Trump and voted for me to understand their actions. I reread the transcripts yesterday and much of it felt like it could have been said today. THREAD

And policymakers should focus hard on avoiding these risks altogether where possible. Beyond driving miscalculation risks, it can complicate conventional planning & operations in ways that we should avoid in today's security environment.

Luckily, we have a big playbook of ways to reduce #nuclear - conventional entanglement risks from past decades, & more options should be developed.

It's a subject that we're confident is watched & worked in deep detail w/in government. It needs more robust public air these days too, given that there are policy proposals under debate that would increase entanglement risks.
