With the new academic year starting, and many people beginning fresh as graduate students, post-docs, or junior faculty, I have been thinking a lot about the core philosophies that govern my own perspectives on science. So I thought I would share. Welcome to The Tao of Cheese

Our paper is out, Bravo and thanks to all the contributors!!👏👏 Take home: after DSB induction, gH2AX domains self-segregate to form a new chromatin compartment, in which some DDR genes also physically relocate to potentiate their expression. https://t.co/laHCIJTBX9

We've known for a while that short sleep leads to earlier mortality. Now, we've found that irregular sleep is actually an even stronger predictor of mortality. Why? Probably circadian disruption. We may need a rethink on which dimensions of sleep matter the most for health.

Using objective measures of sleep in a cohort of >60,000 individuals the authors found people with more irregular sleep patterns have a higher risk of premature mortality & that sleep regularity is a stronger predictor of mortality risk than sleep duration https://t.co/kuyapb9bjE
