This is a good essay on burnout. I could not agree more. I burned out once, and it took me some time to digest why. I had always worked hard and be fine with it. It turns out it wasn't a need for vacation or different air, it was really that the goals we had set for ourselves
If you tell your friends you're burned out, they'll always prescribe the same thing: "You need to take a vacation". But it never works. Burnout is completely misunderstood. This new article by @bscholl is the best explanation I've seen.
