A child living in state care, with a disability, told Dame Rachel de Souza: "The Government will pay for me to die under this Bill, but it wonât pay for me to live". Vulnerable young people deserve so much better than this.đĄ

Listen folks. This is worrying. Actually, itâs not worrying, itâs terrifying. I have sat with people who are about to, and are planning on ending their lives. Iâve talked them back from the edge. Iâve sat and prayed and sobbed and talked and laughed. This is not coercion, this is

What Steve sees is a beautiful, warped distortion of human nature. Heâs also getting confused about the huge difference between âpunishmentâ (not mentioned in @tombennett71âs plan) and consequences. We *all* need to experience meaningful consequences for our actions. The real
I see it very differently! This plan is focused on the wrong issues -on the presenting symptoms, compliance & punishment. Instead we need a focus on child development, the differences between adolescence female & male brain maturation, & our growing understanding of neuroscience.

New old streets in Dresden. The cityâs recreation of its traditional heart is utterly beyond the comprehension or imagination of most British planners, developers, architects or âheritage expertsâ & yet is profoundly popular, sustainable. It is the people who made this happen.

This is a recently completed British train station. It is pathetic, value engineered to a level of comatose ugliness that dispirits & dulls the mind, dissuading passengers & degrading the trains that run through it. It is not civic or sociable architecture....

Coercion isn't only a risk from immediate family. @age_uk said there is a wider "moral hazard" with older people at real risk, especially because of issues around inheritance, as well as the growing issue of romance scams.

At @hadron_energy, we have just revealed new details about the engineering and safety innovations powering our flagship 10 megawatt-electric ("MWe") Micro-Modular Reactor (âMMRâ), the âHadron Haloâ. The Hadron Halo is a compact, factory-built light-water reactor that will

âThe prospect of a state-funded assisted dying service sitting alongside a cash-strapped hospice sector is deeply disquietingâ And yet, this is precisely what it seems we will shortly have. https://t.co/EM2QmjSXLj

This is appalling. Every person with Downâs syndrome would be given help to end their lives under the proposed assisted suicide legislation. Vulnerable people donât need help to die. They need support to live.
đA TRAGEDY Every person with Down's syndrome would be eligible for assisted suicide under this Bill, according to Ken Ross, Founding Officer at the National Down Syndrome Policy Group. This Bill is a national tragedy in the making.

Constantly amazed by: 1. The people who don't think children are capable of anything beyond self-directed play, when they are capable of so much more. I've seen hundreds of schools and thousands of primary classrooms. They rise or fall to our expectations. If you think a kid

This is sickening. As someone with a family member suffering from dementia, it is worrying that under the proposed assisted suicide legislation they could be encouraged to end their life. I am appalled.
đšAssisted suicide for dementia! BIG MOMENT: The British Geriatrics Society confirms someone with dementia COULD be eligible for assisted suicide under Kim Leadbeaterâs Bill & warns people with dementia may unnecessarily choose an early death. This Bill must now be put to sleep!

đ„ Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson drops a bombshell stat. In 20 countries without assisted suicide, palliative care funding rose by 25%, BUT in the Benelux states where there is AS, it has only risen by 7.9% in the same period. Legalising assisted suicide weakens REAL care.

This bill just strikes me as sinister, insidious, quite darkâŠ. to have so many, in fact all, disability charities and advocacy groups oppose it, and an apparent agenda to kill the vulnerableâŠ.

Years ago I did a benefit appeal for a client with Downs Syndrome. He was so suggestible he agreed with the benefits assessor that he could successfully navigate across town. I got the same positive answer when I asked if he could fly an aeroplane

âThere is no organisation of or for disabled people that supports this legislation!â Baroness @Tanni_GT outlines her deep concerns about legalising assisted suicide for disabled people. Despite contrary claims, this is the overwhelming view of groups representing disabled people.
