Amazes me how much of a crutch Strokes Gained has become for the golf punditry. Instead of watching or tracking rounds, and giving insight, it's just "gained a shot off the tee on Sunday" which is basically meaningless.

I don't think we've seen the last of Phil at a US Open. Does he contend again? Probably not. Does he play in a few more? Yes. (If you don't think Phil could have shot 12 under at PDC in Atlanta a couple weeks ago you haven't been paying attention the last 35 years).

Major PR's are BRUTTTTALLL. Call it a major and everyone needs to hit 78 chips on every green. Woof.
If you wanted to go out and play 18 holes today the pace is about 3 1/2 hours for 9 holes. Tee off at 10 am finish at 5 pm… players are trying to figure out this place and it is taking quite a bit of time to do so 😂.
