👇🏾 “None of those men went to the police. None of those men went to human resources. None of those men confronted Aldrich. None of those men pressed McDonough, the boss. None of those men stood up and did the right thing. Nothing can ever change that.”
Joel Quenneville said he's moved on. The hockey world seems to have moved on, too. His return to Chicago last night felt like the final page of the Blackhawks' darkest chapter. But we shouldn't forget what they're moving on from. Not ever. New column:

Part of loving something is recognizing where its flaws are. Just as I use art to show my love of hockey I can also use it to show my critiques of hockey. Hockey culture is not something I can fix, but I get to choose how I interact with hockey and this is my choice
“Hockey is for everyone” they say to cover up the inequalities and injustices that have settled deep into hockey’s culture

I’ve seen men in this sport give this same spiel a few times and I cannot recall someone following up and asking what or how they’ve learned. Not a smidge of detail.
Carter Hart: “I’ve learned a lot. I’ve grown a lot. I’m ready to move on. I’m excited to get out in the community and show my true character.”

This is your reminder that Patrice Bergeron & the Bruins leadership stood up to Bruins management about Mitchell Miller. It has been done before. All this tells us is every Vegas player is either too spineless to say something or completely devoid of character.
"Exciting, good goalie, excited to welcome him to the culture of the Golden Knights." -Mark Stone on Carter Hart Stone says the players were all asked about it and they were all happy to welcome him into the family.

for no particular reason whatsoever I am reminding people that when it comes to sports it is money that speaks the loudest. if you need to communicate something to an organization, withhold your dollars. contact their offices, your ticket rep if you have one. hurt their wallets.

and while we’re on the topic, i hate vegas but don’t use this as an excuse to say “my team would never” because your team probably did check in on him. this is a league-wide issue.

Brett Howden - now a VGK player - saw a girl being hurt in a room full of men and left her while she was weeping. His thoughts were "Okay, this can't be good..." but did nothing to help her. Rumors now link VGK with another man in that room - Carter Hart. This is #VegasBorn

Imagine evicting someone from your practice facility and revoking their credentials for being just a few weeks early in asking completely valid questions …
The Golden Knights asked me to leave their practice facility and revoked my credential because I asked one of their players about the Hockey Canada 5. Their sensitivity underscores the dicey nature of the decision VGK and Carolina are facing. My story: https://t.co/p6QnWBefHQ

Same. Except we know already that most hockey insiders are too scared to lose access to actually try, and at least one reporter has already been shut down for trying to ask about it. I’m not holding my breath for anything to change. Would be great though.
i hope journalists and writers who cover vegas and hockey at large never let that org know a moment of peace. keep asking them why they thought this was a good decision. ask them what they have to say to survivors and women in their org. make them regret their decision

Look I don't care what the real reason for these guys backing up was. Right now what millions are seeing is a bunch of armed soldiers retreating from a guy doing pelvic thrusts at them in a frog costume.

👀 Peter Chiarelli wasn’t content with merely jacking up the Bruins’ & Oilers’ salary cap—he has to mess up the US armed forces too?! Shame! (Yes, I WAS a terminally online hockey fan in the pre-COVID hockey era, why do you ask?!)
Hegseth: "The new compass heading is clear -- out with the Chiarellis, the McKenzies, and the Milleys. And in with the Stockdales, the Schwarzkopfs, and the Pattons."
