Are there any other works of alternate history horror that you think I should feature on #AlternateHistoween? Let me know in the replies.

On this #MapMonday during #AlternateHistoween we ask: what if a zombie apocalypse happened in 1898? You get What Remains from ZekSora. Although the zombie hordes have ravaged Earth, humanity clings to life thanks to its hold over the islands and other easily defensible positions.

The more I read about people using ChatGPT for any kind of real life skills or interaction the more I feel like shaming people who use it generally. I cannot imagine trying to type prompts on how to get a date going into my phone.

My favourite alternative universe: the hotel was an unsuccessful entry in the comp to design the Treasury. The winner, in white Portland stone, was copied in govt buildings the world over. Imagine a universe in which Whitehall and Whitehalls worldwide are red brick gothic revival
St. Pancras station opened in 1868. When built, it was the largest station roof in the world without internal supports. In 1873, the Midland Grand Hotel, designed by English Gothic Revival architect George Gilbert Scott, was constructed on the station's faรงade. ๐ท 1895 - 1905.

The good folks at Sea Lion Press have published something perfect for #AlternateHistoween. 2020's Travellers in an Antique Land is a collection of thirteen (hah) stories of alternate history horror for some of the best writers the online alternate history community has to offer.

Speaking of mogging other cities for public parks, the Chicago Park District manages 220 facilities in over 600 parks covering more than 8,800 acres of land throughout the city. โnine lakefront harbors over 24 miles (39ย km) of lakefront โ 31 beaches โ17 historic lagoons โ86
San Francisco completely mogs other cities when it comes to public parks. Truly one of the best things about this city, especially coming from Philadelphia which has essentially zero public parks.

About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, where by packages valued under $800 could slide in without duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages

Rather than encourage young men through an awkward period we all go through to become the type of person who can find a partner, we are allowing them to rely on a program which gives a bad advice that others can easily recognize when someone is using and know to avoid.

If there really is a "male loneliness epidemic" how is ChatGPT making it better?

You keep seeing headlines like this because they don't know or don't care what federal workers do. They just want the splashy headlines about mass firings and hope you don't notice when they rehire people.

While not quite a work of #AlternateHistoween, I have to give a shout out to the 2006 novel World War Z by Max Brooks. This oral history of a global zombie outbreak is still an epic work in the zombie genre and who doesn't want to fight zombies from a command post in an airship?
