39 years ago tonight, 12/19/85, I went to bed about 9 pm. An hour later than normal. I was 9. Dad wasn't home yet. Which was weird. Because it always took about 25-30 mins to drive home from San Marcos to Fallbrook after he called mom to say he was on his way.

My dad played Football at Fallbrook, where he graduated in 1971. He was an Offensive Linemen, number 62. His son was an OL, but his grandson, Nate, was the best OL of the family! Wish they could have met! Hug your family and friends a little tighter tomorrow.

37 years ago today, I was 9 years old. My dad mysteriously woke us up for breakfast that he made. He did it every now and then on the weekdays. That was my last memory of dad. He died that night in a car accident on Interstate 5 in Escondido. Tell your loved ones you love them.
