I would like to take this time to apologize to Justin Herbert. This Chargers team is so bad. The fact he kept them in as many games as he has is crazy.
Let me get this straight: the “good for baseball” Dodgers are allowed to defer $680M till an unspecified date and pay Shohei Ohtani $2M per year.
Meanwhile, the “small-market” Padres have to stay under $200M or else face consequences from Major League Baseball?
The Padres signed Jurickson Profar to a contract on August 31st. The team proceeded to go 20-7 (.741) to finish the season.
Don’t tell me “vibes” don’t matter.
A lot of bad things have happened to the Padres in the last year. None will be worse than this.
Peter not only gave fans something to root for, he gave us something to believe in. He forever changed the landscape of baseball in San Diego.

DRS Leaders among NL Right Fielders
1. Fernando Tatis Jr. - 26
2. Blake Perkins - 7
3. Jason Heyward - 6
4. Josh Palacios - 5
5. Four players tied - 4
🟡 FTJ also leads the entire NL in DRS and should be considered the frontrunner for the Rawlings Platinum Glove next month.
He signed a 10 year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Rams gave him FREE tickets as a nice publicity stunt to welcome him to the LA lifestyle but by all means keep connecting dots that aren’t real.
The
#Padres
have allowed 242 runs this season which is the fewest in the National League by 11 (ATL).
Yet, they are just four games ahead of the
#Rockies
who sit in dead last in the conference.
If the offense can turn it around then there will be no stopping them
Lineup today if I was Bob Melvin:
1. Fernando Tatis Jr.
2. Juan Soto

I’m bowling in a league tonight in Selma and a man in his mid-80’s approaches me saying that he’s a Padres fan too (I’m wearing a Xan Diego shirt)
I asked him who his favorite player is. He smiled and said, “that new kid in center field, he gives me new life.”

I love Josh Hader as a pitcher but this is the nail in the coffin for me. This type of attitude is a big reason the Padres didn’t make the playoffs this season. He’s not worth extending.
Josh Hader, asked his thinking behind not making himself available for 4 outs: "It's the situation that we were at."
Asked to clarify, he said, "Are we in the playoff race?"
Technically, yes, but it would take a miracle, to which he said, "You guys want me to do everything."
The Padres (11-9) are red hot 🔥
• Lead MLB in runs scored
• Have won three straight games
• Have won three straight series
• Are 7-3 against teams above .500
Good times for the brown & gold
