Loved this telling OH comment from a cost-plus defense Prime, repeated on the @DroneUltimatum podcast:. "If you don't underbid, you can't overrun".

One of the challenges in detecting mental illness in pilots is similar to that in the military: they're afraid that if they disclose something they'll be declared unfit to serve, so they don't. A new bill in the US congress, the Mental Health in Aviation Act, would reduce that.

A bunch of crash investigations concluded over the past week:. Jeju Air crash: pilot shut off the wrong engine after a bird strike damaged the other one. Nepal airline: pilot got speed and weight distribution wrong, stalled and crashed on takeoff. Air India: pilot appears to have.

This silly story is everything that's wrong with tech journalism these days. No original reporting, just repeating what was already posted on X and adding snark and uninformed speculation with inevitable negative bias. Gross.

If I were Amazon or Google, both of whose "smart" speakers are anything but, I'd hustle and get some AI in there ASAP, because I reckon OpenAI is coming for that space. As the ChatGPT app proved, it does voice great, way better than those first-gen devices.

This was a super interesting analysis of what the first beyond visual line of sight jet combat battle taught us. Pakistan scored a resounding victory over the Indian air force. 1) Chinese weapons (Pakistan) very good.2) French weapons (India) not very good.3) It's all about EW.

It's always sobering to see how long "inevitable" technology takes to really diffuse . The term "cord cutting" started to be used two decades ago when it seemed clear that cable/broadcast's era was over. The use of the term peaked nearly a decade ago. But only now has streaming
