I was one of the probationary employees from USDA ARS that got let go on Friday. If you or someone you know is hiring for a position that aligns with my background (molecular bio, microbiol, plant path, virology, RNAi), I would greatly appreciate any referrals or recommendations.

We found a way to implant bacteria 🦠 in fungi 🍄and used it to induce artificial endosymbiosis. Read all about it in our newest research paper @Nature . https://t.co/dJSITsVNOk

NEW Publication!!😄 Phylogenomic analysis of Opisthokonta (#animals, #fungi, & relatives) reveals a largely robust #phylogeny, but uncovers orthology inference methods as a major contributor of #incongruence. This study provides a robust framework for studying the #Opisthokonts

Difference in color between my old mushroom knife (which I just broke—my fault—after years of use) vs. its brand new replacement. I was surprised! Opinel No. 8 Pruning, still my favorite mushroom knife by far. Plus, the jack o' lanterns that broke it! #fungi #foraging
