āHaving those conversations with relatives, explaining that their mother, their grandad, can only be treated in the corridor. Thatās really hard, it eats away at people a little bit every day.ā #EndCorridorCare

@AmandaPritchard @theRCN The audacity of you to pretend to be surprised! It's important to note that the RCN has been raising concerns about "corridor care" for some time. In September 2024, the RCN responded to NHS England's announcement on reporting patient care in corridors, stating: "Nursing staff

So called ācorridor careā is degrading, dehumanising and dangerous. We must not normalise the unacceptable. #ResuscitateEmergencyCare
@ShaunLintern
Corridor nurses and care in corridors utterly normalised (this is an advert for a corridor nurse but sadly itās nothing new). Donāt be fooled as critical incidents stood down: theyāll be back. Almost every hospital is treating patients in corridors and car parks. @RCollEM

I make no apologies for repeating myself: No-one gives a damn until it's your loved one on a trolley. Shock. Shame. Demoralised. Broken. Undignified. 300+ excess deaths a week. And we shrug. Until it's *your* loved one on a trolley. #NHSCollapse

The fact thereās a āwinter crisisā every year should be a source of shame for politicians and NHS leaders. It reflects a recurrent failure to plan, invest, and address root causes of hospital and ED crowding, in the face of societal, demographic and health trends. @RCollEM 1/8

3/3 the big picture when it's your relative in an ambo or on a trolley. But that's what we're doing day in day out in a emergency care system that has collapsed due to lack of capacity. I'm not asking for sympathy or understanding. It's simply a bald narrative of where we are.

This is a very sad story. When the system has no capacity, difficult choices have to be made. The consultant is in charge of negative choices. The least worst options. I am that consultant. It's no wonder they could be viewed as "brusque" when making decisions that can 1/3

Incredible UK A&E healthcare staff will be under immense pressure over the next few weeks. We are resharing our ED Crowding Guidance. It is necessary due to a lack of action from the Government, policymakers and healthcare leaders. https://t.co/CqYinap34T
