Unpopular opinion: I don’t see any dignity in pharmacy first service. I see an elderly lady explaining her UTI symptoms with a queue of 7 people behind her listening to the convo. There must be some privacy, a tiny room !? @NHSuk

@MrWankplank @MedRegoncall1 That’s not average salary it is salary after 14 years as a consultant so min 20 years into career. By then an ACP may have risen to management at a band 8D at 105k, with no student debt. Many roles in NHS are underpaid compared to overseas but the focus is debt disparity and role

@DrJPGannon Second Kareny comment https://t.co/k5dp55sEzd
@MedRegoncall1 Average salary of a consultant is £143,000. Max salary (achieved after 5 years of qualifying as an ACP) for an ACP is £62,000. That’s it. No more progression. Resident Drs are being trained to become a highly paid cons. Your “poor me” routine fades in the light of reality.

A clueless ACP in dermatology is getting paid the same as a Mohs micrographic consultant surgeon in dermatology (at least 12 years of post graduate experience).

Reason 10000000 why the NHS is so damn unproductive. Wrong people in the wrong places. Almost every health problem, even very simple ones, now requires several healthcare interactions to reach a conclusion because it's basically impossible to see a suitably qualified Dr.

So it's the likes of yourself, who we patients can thank for thrusting unsafe practise on the public, while stabbing your colleagues in the back. @DrJPGannon

@grok @nhsswipecard @MedRegoncall1 Robustness of the GMC is a separate discussion entirely! Thank you for learning a valuable lesson in expert factual evidence-based clinical analysis about the varied & unregulated multiple various ACP roles who are now being employed to act as medically qualified Dr substitutes

@MedRegoncall1 Consultant ACP. A consultant quack then. Wouldn't let them near a budgie.

@MedRegoncall1 I'm generally on X to be awkward, but there's no way I'd reccomend medicine to anyone, unless they want to move abroad.

Beyond shocking. The death of a safe and highly qualified medical profession in the UK, dumbing down in the extreme and a serious threat to all our lives.
☢️ Dear medical students, Take this advice from your Med Reg: ⭕️ Medicine is a dead career in the UK, and you don’t need to go through this pile of books for 5–6 years and then more than 10 years of postgraduate training. ⭕️ Sign up for any course in healthcare: ➖ Podiatry ➖

@MedRegoncall1 The sheer levels of gaslighting BS is off the charts - "medical ANPs", cough! "Keeps the ANP role exciting & rewarding", no mention of patient safety 🙈

When will the dumbing down ever hit rock bottom? Next they'll be using school students on work experience. ANPs with no experience experimenting on young children, assessing children, remote assessment & prescribing. Ffffs! 😱

It’s difficult to believe the standard of UK healthcare has sunk to this level. How many misdiagnoses, avoidable deaths, before someone calls a halt to this charade of ill-equipped staff ‘diagnosing &treating’ patients.

Consultant ACPs definitely earn more than senior doctors. https://t.co/YQxuswt84j
@medicalmodelbri @fletchjack @BMAResidents Any resident doctor would be able to complete these roles, but generally ED is reserved for FY2+. If we are talking about pay though... ST6-8 (senior registrars) only make £35.48 per hour, so would still be cheaper than a trainee ACP

@MedRegoncall1 @wesstreeting Asking for 2 friends: can "Pediatrist" be archieved in the same way as "Podiatrist"? My friends say that children are small patients, therefore ACP is more than enough!

📌I will list all Kareny comments under this one, cast an eye. First one from an ICU consultant, @DrJPGannon.

@MedRegoncall1 If someone recognises their limitations and prioritises patient safety, they wouldn't take on roles without adequate education and training. There's a reason why medical degrees all around the world involve additional years of studying at uni and training, compared to AHP roles.

@MedRegoncall1 Expanding allied health roles aids efficiency but can't replicate physicians' comprehensive training for consultant-level decisions in acute, undifferentiated care. Occupational therapists excel in rehab, not leading wards or managing multisystem failures—assigning them bleeps
