The role of young people in this election cannot be understated. Turnout delivered on many of these races. By 2024, Millennials & Gen Z voters will outnumber voters who are Baby Boomers and older, 45/25. We are beginning to see the political impacts of that generational shift.

Impactful words by @CarolynBertozzi today on how diversity in her trainees enabled creativity, not playing by the rules, and ultimately the work that built the field of bioorthogonal chemistry. Diverse science leads to better science!

If you're looking for a postdoc or are a prospective graduate student, I'll be recruiting trainees soon. If you're interested in aging/AD and any of: * Multi-omics * Machine learning / deep learning * Neuroimaging / fMRI Please do reach out, or come find me at #AAIC2022!
Big news!! I've decided to turn down (!) an NIH K99/R00 and instead take a tenure track position at @lunduniversity!! I will be opening my own lab by the end of this year, which will use machine learning and multi-omic and imaging data to study ADRD. πππ

Neuropsychopharmacology - Mobile footprinting: linking individual distinctiveness in mobility patterns to mood, sleep, and brain functional connectivity
Super excited to share our new preprint on mobile phenotyping. We sought to link individual differences in behavior, such as mood and sleep, to brain function through mobile footprints in adolescents and young adults. https://t.co/FTyIqibwYl

We are super excited about the digital phenotypic approaching to studying neuropsychiatric disease. Such scalable, objective, and real-time deep behavioral phenotyping may serve as digital biomarkers to aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of neuropsychiatric diseases. 10/n

In a penalized, cross-validated multivariate model, we were able to predict individual footprint distinctiveness using whole-brain functional connectivity. Selected features included those in the somatomotor network, but also those with default, frontocontrol & limbic systems.9/n

Finally, we tested brain-footprint associations. In mass univariate analysis, we found that stronger functional connectivity in the somatomotor network was associated with higher footprint distinctiveness. 8/n
