A new process for writing/thinking that I'm trying out 1. New Google Doc, hit record/transcribe 2. Let loose a 2-3 minute stream of thoughts/ideas on a subject, some good some bad. No editing 3. Ask ChatGPT to take those ramblings and turn it into a 500 word blog by @morganhousel

Mario Cristobal just got the Canes back into the national title game for the first time in 23 years. It's wild to look back at where The U was four years ago when he left Oregon to come home:

Cristobal will inherit a program that went 21-15 the past three years under Manny Diaz

Would've guessed the opposite; since they share the same name of "degree", I assumed the first temperature gauges were radial in design and not today's vertical lines

If you divide 1 by 998,001 you get all three-digit numbers from 000 to 999 in order, except for 998.

Just used Nano Banana Pro 2 to visually explain a weighted grade average better than I ever could before, in Madden NFL Create A Player type visuals (how I picture it)

This is one of my biggest recommendations: admin should still teach 1 class. Donna Shalala always taught a class when she was president of U Miami, how cool for those students to be taught by the U president and the former HHS secretary
In a perfect world, every college president, provost and dean would be teaching a course this spring, to see first hand how hard it is to ensure students, not AI, are doing the work.

This article is an annual highlight. Especially #7: "A fusion energy start-up has developed a process to turn mercury into gold."

English sentences have become shorter and shorter over time. (Though the rise of the plain style of writing is a better explanation of why it’s become easier to read.) https://t.co/CIEARtCg0U

The best way to improve is not to focus on results. It’s to focus on habits. 27 studies: Behavior change goals are 3x more effective than outcome goals in boosting performance. Growth depends on altering the actions we can control. A key to progress is concentrating on process.

This is so great, it converts renderings to what it's really going to look like. @antonia_mdprjct this is stealing my specialty

Transform idealized architectural renders into what they'll actually look like. No sunshine. No happy families. Just cold, honest reality.

Hockey seems to have the highest hit rate with hyped up prospects. Soccer and baseball are also decent. I wonder what makes them different? Best guess: more time in a better developmental system = greater track record = safer projection. Or maybe more skills-based sports?
there are three 50 pt players in the nhl right now: mackinnon, mcdavid, and this 19-year-old beast https://t.co/GHT7C1E1sF

"When will I ever use this?" "How is this useful in my life?" Not everything we learn in math has to be applied. Math can be seen as an art as well.

Really liked "The Origins of Efficiency" from @_brianpotter and @stripepress. Felt like a crash course in industrial engineering. Only "bad" part was navigating the minefield of source links on Kindle, must've accidentally hit them like 20x
