I graduated from a private Christian school and, we had a banquet-style, no-contact prom. That prom was held at Nottoway Plantation. I remember arriving there and saying, “Y’all know enslaved people used to walk this land.” I was told to “stop being racist.” Well, look at God. 😂

Just a reminder that white folks book expensive weddings at plantations because it represents white prosperity and wealth, even when that wealth was built on the blood, sweat, and tears of Black people.
