It's a homemade wheelchair not a toy. All the kids - HS robotics students & 2-year-old - as well as parents are great. But PLEASE remember this happened because parent's insurance would not cover cost of his wheelchair so he asked his old school- which not every family can do.
This 2-year-old couldn't walk on his own. So a high school robotics team built him a customized toy car

That wheelchair was worth thousands of dollars. It would have been customized - measured to one person. Replacing it will take time, money and in the interim they'll be forced to use an unsuitable, possibly painful wheelchair.
And the crushing feeling of knowing no one cared.

A disabled woman died during a power outage in NY last year. She had worried about dying this way and had asked to be allowed a back-up generator but it was prohibited because she lived in apt building. Answers look simple when you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Back when I was first a wheelchair user there was no delivery. Grocery shopping was a maze of inaccessibility. People would push me out of their way like I was a cart when I was looking at shelves. 🧵
No one ever told me how much of my life I’d spend pretending to look at random items in a food aisle while waiting for someone to move their
