Getting this right is about more than just electricity. Just today we saw another major UK industry hit by high energy prices.

But getting this right means more than just spending money. With the nuclear taskforce, the Government MUST reform nuclear regulation to bring down costs and speed up delivery, as @britishprogress has argued.

Two Westinghouse AP1000s PLUS the Rolls-Royce SMRs announced last week could (optimistically) bring the UK to over 11GW of nuclear capacity by 2040. Britain used to lead the world in nuclear power. This government could help us nearly match our 90s peak!
