Great article. “Good leadership is a team sport, and that applies not just to the leadership team within an organisation, but also to leadership across a system” Yes. And there are no prizes for the cleanest shorts.

A great read from @buckinghamh - I couldn’t agree more about the intrinsic relationship betwen good governance, good leadership & good partnership working. ➡️

When I took the plunge into a freelance life five months ago, I was fairly sure I had a lot to offer people and organisations, but I was less sure what they would actually want from me. Finding out…

Love the sound of this and look forward to reading the strategy properly. And isn’t it nice to see someone enjoying their job so much on a Monday morning? 😀

#September arguably feels more like fresh start than the 1st January...perhaps our #government could turn over a new leaf and crackdown on reforming our #health and #socialcare sector? 👇 Helen Buckingham, Senior Advisor at @PPLthinks, explores the idea 👇 https://t.co/kvVBtIYSaO

It would have been nice to have had a reply @AvantiWestCoast. Clearly the answer is yes, as we will be almost an hour late into Euston.

Earlier this year @jessRmorley blew people away at our @nuffieldtrust policy summit with her brilliant talk on AI and the NHS. Here she condenses her thoughts into a great guest blog for us - a must-read. Thanks Jess!

NEW GUEST BLOG: Is #AI the silver bullet that will improve #NHS productivity? @jessRmorley describes the three key considerations that must be taken into account before we get carried away with AI’s potential for the health service. https://t.co/DFWm6AhxXl

Fantastic thread here! Also an excellent example of the problem of 'accretion' in policy. New policy often tries to 'fix' problems created by old policy, not the underlying problem.

Much discussion about benefits of outreach teams in mental health. And promises to “learn the lessons” from the Nottingham tragedy - a phrase that infuriates families. But the real question is why we unlearned past lessons & what this tells us about future safety. 🧵

this is v thoughtful thread. we need a contemporary history department of NHS policymaking to keep reminding us what went wrong before and what we vowed to do to stop it happening again

I have never forgotten & will never forget leading an internal investigation into a homicide conducted by a patient at the MH Trust where I was a director. Decommissioning the Assertive Outreach team (badly) was a key factor. This thread sets out such important learning.

How change happens, working with politicians, the hope that grows when you focus on the assets in a community... @ClaireKPPL and I covered an awful lot in a short space of time! Have a listen, tell us what you think?

Post-CofE service refreshments - tea & a custard cream. @fhussain73 takes it up a notch after mosque! Seriously though, it's so easy to demystify stuff, and we do indeed have far more in common than that which divides us. Thanks Farzana.

Ever wondered what happens at Mosque? I just came back from Friday prayers. It’s not mandatory for women to pray in mosque but I like to pray with others on our holy day of the week. We take our shoes off inside the mosque 1/3

What makes you do something differently? And keep doing it, even when it's tough? A business case is necessary, but rarely enough. There's so much power to be unleashed when the head & the heart are in the same place, but it's hard to talk about feelings at work. Worth it though.

The shared endeavour of health and care is beautifully summed up in this Rosamund Snow quote ‘I realised that patients can see things in research that clinicians can’t because we think to look in new places, and we spot discrepancies that doctors take for granted.’

It feels v important that we hold to account not only the thugs smashing windows on our high streets, but also the mainstream media, politicians and commentators whose relentless and unfeeling hostile noise on immigration created the conditions in which fascists feel emboldened.

Do you remember anyone in govt targeting (in their speeches) 'lefty lawyers' in connection with asylum seekers? Well, now (says BBC and Guardian) the rioters are circulating names of firms who deal with asylum and immigration.
