were 3D elements used? did someone do a rough pass before the puppet animation? what do you figure out first, camera or character animation? how do you achieve acting like that when you constantly have to rotate the character? what were revisions like? i have to know

i'm pretty sure they're 2D puppets. maybe 3D was used when planning the shot(?) but i think the final result is 100% 2D
mercury (the studio) is known for having some of the best/most flexible rigged animation there is

the issue with laika is that they make it so hard to watch their movies. i was so lucky i was able to catch missing link on theaters here in my city cause it only released for like a week in a couple theaters with no heads up or advertisements

quasi idolized her since she was the first person to treat him with kindness after living isolated for so long. and unlike frollo when quasimodo notices she doesn't love him back he accepts her choice. it's meant to show the contrast between both characters.
