40 mins since the last update, which was we should be “on our way” in 15 mins. Bathrooms locked. Any communication, even if it’s “hey, still waiting but hope to be going soon” would go along way right now.

options in case we’re not comfortable. I’m not asking for anything other than for you to do better. Have empathy for folks who are a little more anxious than usual to fly right now. Communication is key and you failed at that tonight.

trapped. Again, not great after the horrific tragedy last week. I truly appreciate every effort to put passenger safety first, but close behind that is impeccable communication about the facts as they are, even if there is uncertainty. We deserve to know what’s happening and have.

go above and beyond to inform passengers and make them feel safe. Not only is the pilot difficult to understand, he seems genuinely confused about the “game plan.” We were first told we could get off the aircraft at COS only later to find out we couldn’t. Folks are feeling.

I am honored to be apptd FERC Chairman by Pres Trump. For 4 yrs I have emphasized protecting consumers from excessive power bills, meeting the reliability crisis driven by losses of dispatchable generation and failure to build new generation, in the face of rising demand. 1/2.

I’m not @FERC today but what an exciting day. Huge shout out to all the commissioners, staff, advocates, industry, and especially @RobGramlichDC for making today possible. We cannot grow without transmission. We need it for economic growth and national security. Big day 888!.

Glad they all got a good chuckle out of this and my home state. If anyone still wonders why we are so divided as a country, just watch this. Lumping an entire state into a politically convenient punch line isn’t journalism. We can and must do better.

Super hot take here, but my quick read - er, skim - is that this is overwhelmingly positive for market expansion efforts in the west. As the Chairman notes in concurrence, “today, we approved this proposal unanimously.” He goes on to say:.

Today @Google filed comments @FERC in support of @California_ISO extended day-ahead market (EDAM). We have long been an advocate for expanded regional wholesale electricity markets and view EDAM as a significant step forward to bringing markets to the West

As FERC weighs EDAM, it must also recognize the impact Docket No. ER23-2510 has on participant confidence in the market and, ultimately, the market's ability to grow and deliver greater consumer benefit. See WPTF's comments in that docket here:

Going forward, it will be critical that market participants have confidence in the markets. In our comments, we asked FERC to require an annual filing by CAISO on key elements of EDAM operation. We believe this will boost confidence in the market, attracting more participation.

The inclusive, organic nature of the stakeholder process to develop EDAM represents a deliberate attempt to facilitate the inclusion of as broad a stakeholder group as possible. We believe this directly led to a more robust market design. Kudos to CAISO for leading the effort.

we expect broadly optimized day-ahead markets to better utilize the existing transmission system and, over time, identify where new transmission may be most valuable. This is critical to enable continued commercial growth in the West. More transmission will increase reliability.
