"At the end of 2024, there were just over 82,400 battery electric (BEVs) and over 66,500 plug-in hybrid electric (PHEVs) vehicles in Ireland, approximately 76% of the Climate Action Plan target for 2025 of 195,300 or 16% of the 2030 policy target of 941,500 vehicles." page 18.

Results from the @EPAIreland show our transport emissions are down 1.2%, given we have missed the target for a number of years now we are very far behind the 2030 target. The report says EV sales have very little to do with he drop due to the low number.

This would be a game changer for the city, but it has taken 30+ years to deliver 45km of Luas, this map has 85km+ of new lines. the pace of delivery will have to exponentially increase to deliver this plan in 25 years. we last opened a new line in 2017.

The €15.6 billion in user benefits over 60 years, by a rough calculation, works out to around €700,000 per day in transport user benefits being lost from not having a metro. My article in the @businessposthq today .

The @CCACIreland have launched their 2025 transport review. I strongly support the call, and have for a long time, changes to EV grants and to pivot them to a just transition tool. Nice see 5 of my research outputs cited.
