Thank you to my advisors @KoelleLab & @dbweissman for helping me submit this work. Both of my new manuscripts hinge on coinfection relaxing selection on mutations. Here we focus on how heterogeneity in viral output from host cells contributes to deleterious mutation accumulation.
The latest work out of the lab, led by @brent_allman and with @dbweissman on the interaction between heterogeneity in viral infection and deleterious mutation accumulation is up on bioRxiv as well

Super excited to share this work co-authored with an amazing @EmoryUniversity undergraduate, Julie Zhu. Thank you to @tcfriedrich and @KATarinambraun for helping us track down the data so we could fit our model.
Recent work out of the lab, led by @brent_allman and @Julie22875761 on estimating within-host fitness estimation of viral variants in the context of cellular coinfection is now up on bioRxiv

The biological sciences overwhelmingly support the claim that there are precisely two sexes (no more, no less) in almost all complex multicellular life. Here are 40 peer-reviewed journal articles from biologists on the evolution of sex and why there are only two sexes.
