I just passed a bookie shop. Packed with lads sharing tips and discussing races. Wearing masks but no social distancing. Betting can be done online. How can these be any safer than a hairdressers who invest in PPE? 🤔🤔
I support the process of Garda Vetting in Ireland but I had to complete THREE SEPARATE APPLICATIONS in last few weeks. Can there not be a joined up approach where one application covers you in a number of roles for a set period of time? 😳
I've been saying this for years. Why do the state exams need to be discussed at all in the media? What possible benefit does the coverage serve? Call for media moratorium on Leaving Cert coverage heard by Oireachtas committee via

Geography Teachers. To help with planning for the new school year there are loads of excellent resources available at (with thanks to the

people fill PUR in 2 weeks time to show these lads that we appreciate what they have achieved in last few months. Building to something here.
Last year
@drconmurphy
pulled this from the boot of his car outside the River Lee Hotel and handed it to me. If Cork win on Sunday it will be our 31st All Ireland Senior Title. So I'm taking this gesture as an omen. (I'm not clutching at straws 🤦♂️)
It's over 30 years since I first came in here for breakfast when on a J1 in Hyannis. I have visited many times over the years. This morning I went in for breakfast to hear they are retiring and closing for good on Sunday. I'm glad I got one more breakfast. 😃
@IrishTimes
Not a SF voter but I'm really concerned about media bias when it comes to elections. Many criticised the British media in the run-up to Brexit but have seen similar here.
I see a lot of 'Irish bashing' on my timeline today. Our focus should be on total Leaving Cert reform and not scapegoating one subject over others- especially one that helps define us as a unique nation. People have an opportunity to input how the teaching of Irish could change.
@CarolineWest_IE
I was in a shop yesterday where kids toys were deemed non-essential and taped off. Yet I could have bought a TV soundbar 🤔 Considering that kids are home all the time and not seeing friends I should think toys are essential. 🤔
Really and truly is there a better forward in hurling than Patrick Horgan....his reading, touch, striking and leadership are keeping Cork in this.

I remember a colleague with an Irish name being asked for the English version in front of a large group. Her reply was classic. "Would you ask Boutros Boutros Ghali his name in English?" 😂😂
"The study of geography is about more than just memorising places on a map. It's about understanding the complexity of the world, appreciating the diversity of cultures that exist across continents..." 1/2
Cork's Marymount Hospice to get full government funding from next month
The hospice will continue to fundraise to enhance the care services they can provide to patients and families
Two clubs, one school.

Senior and Premier Minor Football champions feted in the Quad today. Well done to
@CastletownM
and
@NaomhEannaGAA
on their achievements -11 former students started for Castletiwn, 14 for NE. 🏆🏆
Just overheard a middle aged man in a second-hand bookshop tell the sales assistant that he has just returned from holiday having read his first book in 30 years. He was so proud. He was buying another book. It made my day. 😄😄😄
@Askaudreylike
Trying to figure the % of Cork people Reggie managed to upset with this one 😂..Bandon, B'town, Gaeilgeoiri, sea swimmers, Garryvoe residents ....
@jpemul06
I have been to ASTI website and read correspondence from union. There is no mention anywhere of the LC not being 'feasible or enforced'. This headline is inaccurate. Union have asked teachers for direct feedback on proposals however.
@spectatorindex
These are human beings. Another terrible tragedy. No longer shocked unfortunately. Things won't change until there is a collective will to do so.
Hard to leave beautiful Killarney after an excellent

Pleased to present workshops to the committed and engaging Board of Management chairpersons. Maith sibh.
@rtenews
To be a legislator is a privilege and brings with it huge responsibility. If TDs cant be bothered to turn up and vote then they should be replaced by someone who will take it seriously. Waiting for an election is too long.
Of course
#ryantubridy
will divide opinion but he certainly doesn't have the arrogance of presenters in other places. Genuine fella who tried hard to keep Gaybos legacy alive. Let him enjoy his final show without the begrudery 😀

I'm looking forward to presenting at the AGTI Conference on Saturday next on Subject Inspection to support Geography in Post-Primary Schools.
