Being an elder millennial who gets roasted on South Park has to make you want to kill yourself, don't care how evil you are.
JD Vance responds to #SouthPark taking aim at him in last night's episode, which included the Vice President offering to rub baby oil on Satan. "Well, I've made it." .

I've always been against firings for non-criminal actions outside of work and my hope is that some of the left-leaning artists who recently lost jobs and opportunities for their political views will now see restitution as well.
Disney and Lucasfilm have settled Gina Carano's legal dispute over her firing from #TheMandalorian due to offensive posts. "Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars, and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with

The idea that a person who moves to a city after college to try to have a career has to have some guilt about being a "gentrifier" or "transplant" is one of the dumbest ideas to rise out of the "friend who's too woke period" of 2014-2020.

So much time is spent (rightly) discussing the effectiveness of non-violence but there is no reason to believe an act of violence, on its own, without organized strategic execution, could lead to meaningful change.
Deeply depressing that what could’ve been a radical turning point in addressing class inequality within healthcare at a national and subsequently global level has once again been reduced to entertainment fodder.

Okay but The Avett Brothers, Old Crow Medicine Show, and others honored those traditions explicitly. It's not really fair to just call out the least literate side of a movement as representative of a whole.
So the real sin of these bands — Mumford, Lumineers, etc. — was taking a syncretic, literate, deeply felt and achingly poignant American mythic from Jason Molina/Will Oldham and turning it into music to buy Axe bodyspray to. Which is also very American, but in a different way.

Hemingway is simply one of the greatest pure prose writers of all time and if you don't read him it is to your great loss.
There are people on Reddit telling a woman to dump a guy she says is lovely cause he has beat writers and Hemingway on his bookshelf, calling it "red flag media." Why is everyone such a shrivelling piss baby.

Counterpoint: this ethos re-popularized craft cocktails, farm to table, restoring vintage furniture, thrifting, and a renewed respect for nature/the rustic. All cultural good developments!.
what happened in 2010-15 man. we were seized by some kind of faux frontiersman cult for urbanites. probably the worst cultural era in history: . - stomp clap hey music. lumineers, mumford & sons, imagine dragons etc. awful. no redeeming qualities whatsoever .- stipped down.

Brenden Gallagher on there also!.
Spike Lee, Adam McKay and more than 2,000 WGA members blast Donald Trump's "authoritarian assault" on free speech. The WGA's open letter cites Trump’s “baseless lawsuits” against news organizations that have “published stories he does not like and leveraged them into payoffs;”

With the gulf of years expanding from the great left feud of 2020, the reality seems that Warren was persuaded by dumb/arrogant staff and advisors that she could win if she took Bernie out of the field. Which, while wrong, you know, many such cases. I think its time to let it go.
All due respect to Senator Warren, who is obviously on the right side here, we really could have used this same sentiment in February/March of 2020.
