The West is indeed in a mess with critical minerals. .
@big_lithium Samarium is an important rare earth element, particularly for low/high temperature permanent magnets for defense and space applications . Yet the price of samarium hasn’t reflected its critical importance to these expensive systems for a long time - nor the acute supply chain.
