Guidelines recommend using imaging in complex #PCI . New meta-analysis of RCTs supports this and allows estimate the potential benefit of #IVUS or #OCT: NUMBER NEEDED TO TREAT is 11 pts to prevent one TVF in #LM PCI and of 27 in #bifurcation PCI. https://t.co/NKibFjPC0p

🚨 New in #JACCINT: In bifurcation #PCI, proximal optimization + kissing balloon + final POT (PKP) outperforms proximal optimization + side branch dilation + final POT (PSP) with better stent expansion & apposition! 📊 https://t.co/4DgSdzn3iO

This week, our interventional cardiology residents had the unique opportunity to be teached by @ziadalinyc in our heart-team room… Fantastic (also for me) to attend his lesson about #coronary calcium growth, staging evaluation by #IVUS or #yesOCT and management by #PCI !!!!

What a nice study! This reinforces the idea of using a balloon to protect the ‘other’ ostium during ANY dilation that involves the carina. It is the same principle behind #JSBT. Once the carina is ‘reconfigured’ by a stent (either side), it is not possible to reconfigure it

POT-Kiss-POT is superior to POT-side-POT in distal LMCA PCI. Great study by @BURZOTTA_F et al. Corresponds with our bench findings by @LNAndreasen and John Ormiston: https://t.co/5FospDKhlN Still, high risk of missing out on any clinical advantage of Kissing if Cx rewiring is

Now we know: if you embarque into bifurcation stenting and want/need to treat LARGE side-branches, POT-KISS-POT is associated with better OCT results. Great 🙏 & 👋 to Gemelli’s interventional cardiology team !!!!! #CRT2025 #JACCINT

3-yr FU of EBC MAIN trial out in @CircAHA. In true #LM #PCI ... 1. Stepwise provisional at least comparable to systematic 2-stent 2. When LCX lesion is very long, 2-stent (implanted with technique freely selected by the operator) is good! @BifurcationClub
