I just want to remind uk philanthropy before we get excited about the next new thing, no one has managed to do long, large grants for unrestricted / core, for 10 years yet for anything, let alone trying to shift paradigm work. No one has managed even that well acknowledged next.

This is very likely true, but it its hard to see how we will obtain a "softer way" out of such a hard fall unless we change our minds and hearts.
I fundamentally think it’s too late for a lot of the eco modernist ideas being proposed they can emerge out of collapse, in a softer way, but not as a transition from extractive capitalism, and I think they are now a huge distraction and we all going to suffer BIG TIME.

How can we invest in a good society if we are so indebted?.
Here's one contributor to public unhappiness. Debt interest spending is so high that govt needs to run a primary surplus - i.e. raise more from us in tax and other revenues than it spends on everything other than debt interest - just to stop the debt ballooning.

We’re very much looking forward to having so many donors and peacebuilding practitioners here in Belfast next week. We hope it will be a very productive week.
