you might not know this about me, but despite being a white boy I’m actually Yolŋu! one of my grandfathers designed a flag during the (ultimately successful) Yolŋu struggle for Sea Rights in the 2000s. I’ve annotated it w/ additional symbolism he told me but not mentioned online.

in hindsight the subplot in The Mummy where the sniveling sidekick tries to use vampire logic and cycles through religious symbols until he gets to a Star of David and the mummy goes “ah, one of the slaves. you will be useful” is crazy.
