At the risk of just being intrinsically opposed to change, there’s two concerns I can think of:. 1) It risks whitewashing history.2) It treats the issue as if Calwell was the problem, as opposed to wider Australian society.
He has an electorate named after him, it’s time to push for a name change. This seat is home to a large non-white Australian community and could soon be represented by the first Australian-Palestinian in federal parliament. This white Australia version of the Labor Party
