Really impressive & detailed article by Danny Lee (best in the business!) on A380s operational challenges. Meticulously researched & taken months to put together (hint), putting into focus the complexity of maintaining such a big aircraft with a vulnerable supply chain!.

Update on Air New Zealand B787 refurbs:.✈️1st aircraft: ZK-NZH took 6 months (10/24→4/25).✈️NZI 3 months (3/25→6/25).✈️NZJ skipped (heavy check done but went to ASP for storage awaiting new engines).✈️NZK 3 months & counting (back in AKL).🔴3 months seems to be the number!.
It took 6 months for the indomitable Singapore Airlines to refit an Air New Zealand B787-9. Remember when everyone was crying “why is it taking so long to refit Qantas’s A380s”?.
