Emirates vs flydubai Flew EK A380 MEL-DXB & onto BSZ on FZ B737-8. Both in business. Flying them back to back puts it in perspective: FZ hard product is significantly better. Ek soft product is better. Goes to show how overrated EK are that their “low cost” cousin has a better

As we suggested right at the beginning, this isn’t groundings of entire fleets and will be resolved pretty quickly.
Update from @JetstarAirways on A320 issue. 🔴34 of 85 aircraft affected. 🔴90 flights cancelled 🔴Each software update takes 2-3 hours. Must be done in person not remotely.

There's some sensationalism already circling online: 🔴No mass groundings of A320 family; it's a software update that needs to be installed 🔴Doesn't apply to all aircraft; some either already have update installed or don't require it 🔴Not causing mass disruptions either

Not surprised, but most Jetstar A320/A321 flights this morning showing some delays between 30 and 60 mins. Nothing significant, but clearly running updates since Qantas and Virgin not showing delays on B737s.

If you're flying an A319/320/321 this morning and the pilot announces that you're delayed because the plane needs a software update, they're not fibbing!

Qantas’s A380 VH-OQC is on the move, about to depart on a test flight as QF6032. This’ll be her first flight in 4 years, 5 months and 7 days (since she ferried from LAX to AUH)! If all goes well, she’s ferry to LAX tomorrow and enter service next week!

Always thought downward facing cameras were pointless. For most flights it is, but alas it's glorious when you're tracking on a busy airway that requires traffic to be stacked at different altitudes. Black Sea is certainly one of them!
For aviation geeks: My B787-9 Qatar Airways flight FRA to DOH passed another plane over Turkey. We hovered at 37000 ft right above it. Everybody in the cabin was able to watch it thanks to the downward facing camera. It was fascinating. Any idea what the other plane was?

We're getting a little nervous about this 🤣 Working through it, it's becoming clear that Project Sunrise is a “deal with the devil”. We're realising that few people get it, including market analysts & industry leaders. It's either going to rock them or go over their heads 🤣

Going to be difficult flying day in Australia today. One airport sneezes, others catch a cold. When they all sneeze? 🔴SYD: westerlies from 12pm → single runway ops 2pm (arrival rate 23) 🔴MEL: arrival rate low 20s 🔴BNE: thunderstorms → arrival rate 24 (4pm)
