How do the experiences and outcomes of unrepresented litigants accessing court remotely compare with those who attend court in person? Little research has been conducted on the impact of remote hearings on unrepresented individuals to date. Our recent report fills this gap.🧵

Perhaps unsurprisingly, there are large gender differences in innovation recognition. Changing the gender structure of an inventor team from all-female to all-male increases the probability of omitting an all-female patent by almost 16 percentage points. https://t.co/wiXM10e79l

Patent lawyers choose jurisdictions based on networks. If the lawyer went to the same school as the judge, they’re 4.6x more likely to win. Bad effects: 1) Talented but less-connected lawyers are less likely to get jobs 2) Law firms rely on a strategy of connections to win cases

Law students: Uncertain what kind of lawyer you want to be? Law profs: Unsure how to advise them? For the past 12 months, I've been leading the redesign of a website to help ( https://t.co/qZqFM6mvVS). It's geared to @WFULawSchool students, but the content applies widely. 🧵
