I need our male friends to understand how much Kamala communicated with her facial expressions last night and how every woman in America was having a telepathic conversation with her through our tv screens. A whole conversation was had that you all didn’t hear.

First debate, Biden was the parent who had been home all day with a cranky toddler, rung out & over it. Last night, Kamala was the parent who got home with fresh legs & new strategies, tagged in, and calmly managed that toddler (with a wink & a smile!) until bedtime. Night night!

We at the Twitter Loser Colony understand that there are much better sites, but we are too old and anxious to move there. Some of us are also perfectly happy at AOL and some of us still use the terms “glove box” and “bathing suits.” We are doing the best we can.

Had half a milkshake tonight, and if you haven’t had one in a while, I have lived to tell you: milkshakes are a young person’s game.

I was excited that my teenager wanted to have a family trivia night. He built a whole Jeopardy game & gathered us in the living room. And then I picked “Silly Things” for $500 and realized it was basically a roast. 🤣

If we need any more confirmation of how powerful Michelle Obama’s convention speech was, my 12-year-old son (who watched a lot of the convention) had library today, and this is the book he brought home

People are watching Minneapolis Airport on FlightAware to see if Tim Walz is the VP pick — as if a midwesterner wouldn’t pack their car with 18 hours worth of snacks and leave at a sensible 3am to beat the traffic

HERE'S THE PROBLEM: Trump is a decisive communicator but LIES. Biden tells the TRUTH but not as clearly and assertively. It's misinformation vs. democracy — the entire challenge of our nation in one debate. Ugh. #Debates2024

This is going around again, so I thought I’d share the update that I’ve had a permanent school job for the last two years & will be finishing my degree in school librarianship in December! Teachers are still my heroes & the kids continue to make every day worth it.

Just finished my first day as a 1st grade sub. I learned 16 names, comforted 4 crying kids, bandaged a cut, handed out masks, let a tired kid sleep, did weird voices while reading, held one hand, got 3 hugs & one I love you. I see why teachers are exhausted and why they stay.

Just saying, if I were checking out guys at the gym, I wouldn’t be looking at how much they could lift or how fast they could run, but how mindful they were of people waiting for the machine they were using & how well they wiped it down when they were done.
