For you, Pakistan’s (part of Indian subcontinent) unmatched accomplishments in the field of terrorism should be good enough. I’m sure you’ll get along.
Has a single (subcontinent) Indian ever accomplished anything of truly major note in the modern period, in any field? I can't think of one. Nor can Grok. Seems odd, given there are 1.5 billion of them, and we're told we need to accept endless waves of them for their "talent.".

Another factor is North and East India being virtually landlocked - no trade with either Pak or China through land. All trade has to go through South, which by the way is blessed being next to the sea. So yes, these south-is-so-great pushers should be a little more humble.
It's not south Indian politicians who did zilch. Stop beating the chest. Center for decades kept on pushing industry to the south because of North's proximity to Pakistan and China while north Indians were fighting to save your ungrateful arse.

Extending that argument a bit, US and Pak seem like more natural allies - both duplicitous, military focused, aggressive warring mentality, suffering from delusions of grandeur. The softer India-US intangible like democracy can never match up to those shared Pak-US personality.
The reason India US relations are on the rocks was easily predictables it was based on intangibles. Example would be both are democracies, oldest and largest etc. This talk occurs precisely because they are no real pressing common goal.

Agree could never go beyond 30-40 pages. A more engaging read is The Undoing Project by Michael Lewis. It maps the life and works of Kahneman and his Tversky.
I’m convinced that anyone who says Thinking Fast and Slow is a good book is just trying to masquerade as erudite and sophisticated. Nothing against Kahneman, but that brick is literally 500 pages of word vomit that could’ve been said in two paragraphs.

Pak is inarguably the GOAT in one deadly industry. World beaters. Killers infact. Kudos to their hard work and dedication to the craft. #pakistanindependenceday.

Selection or selectivity is crucial. But then there is something to be said about race or ideology/world view too. For example, name a single country where Indians have been bad immigrants or a country where Pakistanis have been good immigrants.
*Selectivity* is just such a crucial thing when designing an immigration policy. It's why you see some nationalities do so well in some countries and so poorly in others. Had the UK been more selective with Pakistani immigration, we'd all be praising its success.

Brilliant as usual. @BDUTT and @ShashiTharoor have been the two most articulate voices for India in the last few months.
President Trump's tariffs on India may rise as high as 50% by the end of the month. Is this the end of the US-India strategic friendship? I asked Indian journalist @BDUTT:
