When we started Cocoon, we knew we wanted to create a place where personal priorities come first. Really proud to start offering compassionate leave and hope other companies start doing so too!.
This week at @meet_cocoon we announced 4 weeks of leave for all employees to take paid, protected time away for pivotal life events that fall outside of traditional types of leave. Now we're open sourcing our Compassionate Leave Policy. Here's why: 1/

Being at Stripe for 8 years taught me a love of diving into messy, regulatory areas and simplifying them into magical experiences — and that's exactly what we've done with employee leave.

As a new mom (!), it's insane to see what you have to go through in order to "go on leave" (imagine the worst insurance claims process of your life), and the company side of managing leaves isn't much better.

Miss these days ❤️. (It's funny seeing people analyze objects in the photo. I'm trying to figure out what that red capped bottle in front of my monitor is — soy sauce?! If so, that's pretty on brand for me. ).
An early photograph of Stripe. They had a wonderful office next to Coupa Cafe in downtown Palo Alto, but they were about to move out because they'd gotten too big. It felt like the end of an era, so I took a picture of them.
