I don't think it's such a good idea to place British savers' money in the same basket from which they draw their salaries, rather than where they'd get the highest returns.
Good to see ISA reform back on the agenda - per FT 🇬🇧📈 I argued in the @FT a few weeks ago that reviving the old PEP principle from 1986 - the ISA predecessor - that mandated at least 1/2 is invested in UK equities That principle is well worth reviving

Schon 2019 sagte das @WSJ voraus, dass unsere Energiewende scheitern wird. Heute um 12 Uhr werden die Kühltürme des AKW Gundremmingen gesprengt. Statt CO₂‑freie Atomenergie weiterzuverwenden, wird lieber mehr Kohle und Gas verfeuert. Wie sollen wir das unseren Enkeln erklären?

Die Kühltürme des AKW Gundremmingen liegen seit heute Nachmittag in Schutt und Asche. Eine Leistung von 21 TWh/Jahr, ein Drittel der Stromerzeugung in Bayern. Wir müssen uns das nicht selbst antun.

@Reuters @BR_Presse @welt @OutdoorChiemga @weplanetint @WeplanetDACH Beide Kühltürme wurden pünktlich um 12 Uhr gesprengt. Die Reaktivierung ist weiterhin möglich, wurde aber innerhalb von Sekunden um einen dreistelligen Millionenbetrag teurer gemacht.

Wie die Kühltürme des Atomkraftwerks von Gundremmingen in sich zusammenstürzen und spontaner Applaus aufbrandet, das wird einmal in Geschichtsbüchern stehen. Eine industrielle Gesellschaft beklatscht ihre eigene Ratlosigkeit und die mutwillige Demontage ihrer selbst.

.@kpomerleau and Paul Ryan, making the strong case that Trump should replace his tariffs with a destination-based tax flow tax. Admittedly at this point they're a bit like the last handful of men holding Helm's Deep against 10,000 Uruk-hai, but it bears repeating anyway.
