this is what i want all of my students to do, all the time.
In college I would ignore the instructions for assignments and instead create something vaguely on topic but much more interesting than whatever the professor asked for. I got an A every single time. This is broadly applicable to the rest of life.

supporting the soft bigotry of low expectations is a job qualification for school/academic administrators.
My rebuttal here is very simple: students love Shakespeare. He wrote popular works full of action and intrigue. His language is ours, just younger and more unruly—nothing a decent teacher can't handle. Today, juniors were excitedly asking me if they could read Midsummer out loud.

it's the RIGIDITY that is one of the biggest problems in math education. too many uptight anal-retentives in the math ed world.
perhaps i'm dumb, but i hit far fewer math walls once i started using AI to explain the concept to me multiple times in multiple rephrasings with examples. a big chunk of technical education is bottlenecked by slightly unintuitive rephrasing presented rigidly.
