The magical “aerosol” vanishing trick is now complete 🪄 Bang smack in the middle of the Meningitis outbreak in England, the WHO decided that was the perfect time to take their Meningitis page offline for 4 days… …and now it’s back, the word “aerosol” has magically vanished!
Aaarrrghh! The cover-up begins… The WHO page about Meningococcal Meningitis & its modes of transmission (including the word ‘AEROSOL’) has just been removed from their website. Original link: https://t.co/axt5cQa442 Thankfully there’s an archived page: https://t.co/7OVtGJzT2K

@lorianebird @_CatintheHat @WHO Agree with you on all points and introduce one more: was this preparatory? A meningitis outbreak of a few thousand cases will have an economic impact in the tens to hundreds of billion dollars, proportionate to the accompanying panic of course.

@Carl1411c @MichaelRosenYes Meningicoccal meningitis and meningicoccal septicaemia are caused by the same bacteria. And you can have both at the same time. The UK outbreak is meningicoccal disease - both meningitis and sepsis. But media is calls it meningitis because that’s how people usually refer to it

@adandec Yeah they set up a specialist transport team bringing kids from across the southeast. Their mortality rates dropped by about 20% over the course of a few years.
