“Practitioners in other fields pride themselves on protecting one another… Yet we purported healers tolerate stacks of body bags filled with our dead colleagues, after people like me have failed to understand the depth of their suffering.”

When a surgical resident attempts suicide, her training institution grants her little slack, seemingly turning its back on a deep-seated problem with medical culture.

You know when you leave a conference and the inspiration fades soon after? I tried something new... writing it down! A few weeks out from the @AAMCtoday meeting, @JennTomasik and I reflect on implications of the meeting's systemic focus in our work with #healthcare organizations
Our #Healthcare Practice Team attended the @AAMCtoday's Annual Meeting last month where they attended sessions on civil discourse, #climatechange, & ant-racism. Manager @JasonPradarelli & Vice President @JennTomasik share more in our latest #blog: https://t.co/NjWlMEpnzZ

The writing bug bit. Ideas on why the workforce crisis signals deeper issues in healthcare. “Unignorable moments” share 4 traits. They: 1️⃣ are public 2️⃣ are irreversible 3️⃣ are systemic 4️⃣ challenge identities https://t.co/3Nj8cHTqlJ

So proud of you and your decision to follow your true north ❤️ @JasonPradarelli
6 months ago I informed my program that I was not returning to finish residency. After 2 years of reflection, I realized my true passion was not in doing surgery, but in coaching. This month I begin my formal coaching engagements with @WPLConsulting. The journey continues! 🙌

Don't Tell Your Dean What I Said https://t.co/kSp7xOKNhq via @doximity Powerful and incredibly important message by the brilliant @daniellis__ - the danger of #CancelCulture within medicine and surgery is real, and deserves everyone’s attention.

But you may also learn that surgery is not the right path for you. You can learn a lot about yourself in these early professional years. Other priorities/interests may arise. Life changes. And that’s okay, too. Either way, seek multiple perspectives along your journey. ✌🏼
To the incoming surgical interns: the next 2-3 years are hard. You will question if you can do it. You will question your choices. You will question if it's worth it. We ALL asked the same questions years ago. It is absolutely and totally worth it! #love_surgery

It’s time to get uncomfortable. A powerful and critically important piece written by my friend and colleague, @IEMcElroy, who inspires me every day. Please take the time to read, it’s time to stand up and speak out. #GetUncomfortable
What do you do when you get turned into a meme? You use it as your call to action to address systemic racism and perpetuation of White Supremacy in medicine and surgery. It’s time to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. https://t.co/eR5PaplHR7
