I took an interest in Linux first and foremost for ideological reasons. I was really into the idea of Free Software, and just wanted to be a part of that. I was 17, and had the opportunity to see a lecture by Richard Stallman, where he dressed up as St. IGNUcius of the church of

I tried using Claude Code to write platform-specific SIMD implementations for several functions I never got around to optimizing. I gave it full control to modify the code, run tests, benchmark, and make any tweaks it deem necessary. And here's the most amazing part: it actually

@n00buntu @HolgersenTobias @levelsio @simeonkerkola @GolerGkA Okay, so, like, here's a very *high level* overview of the issues involved in doing a networked game at a decent level of quality. The first thing one discovers when doing this kind of system is that, even though web dudes love TCP, it is very bad for games if that's all you

Wild to find out what things are made in Clojure cc @__tosh
One month ago we open sourced @instant_db and had one of the largest Show HN’s for a YC company. Today we're announcing a $3.4M seed round. We're backed by YC, SV Angel, James Tamplin, Paul Graham, Greg Brockman, Jeff Dean, and over 50 technical angels.

The government doesn't want you to know this but API keys are free you can just grab them, I have 300 API keys at home
life hack: if you do not have an API key for a service or you cannot afford to run it simply type the name of the service with "api_key" after it and copilot will provide you one free of charge

Benchmarks are silly, but playing along - here's my 5y old Clojure entry running on Java11. And there are many faster. And RoR is fast enough for 99% of the apps. Build apps with the stack that works for you. Cheers.

If more developers ran Linux on their desktop, maybe they wouldn't be so petrified of running a server by themselves. We are unlearning the basics of the Internet at an alarming rate.

First look at @ElectricClojure v3's improved network transfer semantics, that let the programmer express with precision the exact network topology they want with intuitive and obvious code! Blog post: https://t.co/XQv7NXPyth
