My governor told me the hillside keeps eating his highway so I asked how many rebuilds he’s done and he said he just goes to caltrans and gets a new highway afterwards so I said it sounds like he’s just feeding the highway to the hillside and then the taxpayers started crying
A full closure Hwy. 1 is in effect from Ragged Point Inn in San Luis Obispo Co. to one mile south of Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn in Monterey Co. No estimated time of reopening. Closure due to rockslides and debris in the roadway at multiple locations. Crews to reassess at daylight.

I think the worst was when the pass was closed due to snow, so Google and Waze routed people through mountain backroads to get over the NV border. Absolute cluster. You had Priuses piled up on random dirt roads deep in the mountains in the dark. The mind boggles.

Like bro this is the snowiest pass in the Sierras, and possibly in the whole country. They straight up don't plow it until the snow stops falling. Dudes in tricked out 4x4 rigs with chains on all 4 tires can't make it. Your Camry won't either.

Every single year people try to make it over the summit in winter no matter how many emergency weather alerts they get. Not just out of staters, but native Californians too. I just don't get it. There can't be anything in Reno worth spending the night up there.
Chaos on Donner Summit, California as darkness approaches—several crashes and cars spun out into the embankment heading eastbound on I-80 toward Truckee.

As Wolfmueller says so well, the Evangelical mind sees anything on the inside as true spirituality and anything on the outside is mysticism or works. Tangible signs of our faith are needed for human beings. From dust we came and to dust we will return. Simple as that.

It's going to snow in my coastal CA town and I am not prepared for this at all. Last time I drove with literally 3 inches of snow on the ground I got stuck on the side of the mountain for an hour and a half.

He's right that they at one point had a much greater role in everyday life and society than they do now. Hollowing them out and destroying people's faith was an intentional move.
