I’m pretty sure the entire Zcash community is in agreement that solid and battle tested quantum upgrades are needed soon which is pretty bullish for the inevitable quantum crack within 5 years.
Agree with @adam3us. Quantum computing is a bubble. Won’t break secp256k1 any time soon.

Why are your favorite blockchains leaking your data? This bug doesn’t exist on Zcash.
@milianstx users of privacy protocols are not "mixing" their funds, anyone saying this is either advocating warrantless surveillance, or more likely, selling snake oil. Transactions visible to the entire world are a bug in early blockchains.

This is the difference between onboard compute vs. centralized coordinator. Tesla starting from the edge first is obviously the anti-fragile strategy. Just wait until they start meshing, coordinating and getting better hardware like lidar.
🇺🇸 SAN FRAN BLACKOUT – WAYMO FROZE, TESLA DROVE Waymo’s robotaxis got a little too real last night - by completely shutting down when San Francisco’s power outage knocked out traffic lights. Meanwhile, Teslas on FSD? Kept rolling. No drama, no headlines - just handling chaos

Crypto people must be on crack because paying at register with a credit card takes at least a minute or more. Not sure why we have this idea that sub-second finality is needed for payments, literally no payments work that way. 1 min is probably fine, 10s is fantastic. 10-20 min

An important part of truth seeking is understanding the first principles. You can’t really understand law if you rely on compiled interpretations rather than source materials. This is why @lex_node is one of my favorite lawyers, he always brings the relevant source code.

ZEC has the strongest privacy when shielded for some time and spent incrementally. So really the feature is mostly available to members of the ZEC hodl club. Membership has its benefits. It’s still early.

As Zcash and Zashi have made progress over the past few years I’ve seen many disillusioned crypto idealists eventually realize what is possible for Zcash. Zcash is Galt’s Gulch for crypto missionaries, you can only find it when you are ready to receive it. Download @zashi_app
Hi - I'm joining @ElectricCoinCo (ECC) to lead business development. I did not have any expectations of jumping back into the workforce. I was burnt out, frustrated by the state of the industry, and interested in exploring life outside of crypto. And then I downloaded Zashi, a

Josh @jswihart is not widely known outside of Zcash but he is an effective operator who led Zashi to market which made the alien technology that is Zcash approachable to mere humans. Great to see him advising on this DAT.

The biggest failing of the biotech industry is that most of the "experts" don't actually take care of their health. Nothing more ironic than a fat alcoholic "longevity scientist"
@skooookum A ball with lots of biotech people was a superspreader event, a biotech lunch was one, a biosecurity dinner was one, a debate on gene editing was one, and a biohacking rave was one. Biologists had a poor showing this week.

The driverless debate on cameras vs. lidar reminds me of the internet rollout of satellite vs. fiber. For awhile, satellite was the only way to distribute fast internet to a geographically disparate group of people. Eventually satellite created saturation point of demand for

It is inevitable that the intelligent and wealthy create genetically superior offspring. Within 100 years wealth disparity will be equivalent to genetic disparity. There will be a new overclass of hyper-intelligent extra-humans that run circles around baseline humanity.
Philo-Semitism! WSJ: Chinese billionaire Xu Bo reportedly has 100+ sons born through surrogacy+IVF. He prefers eggs from Jewish women. Elites are aggressively using IVF + embryo screening technology. What do they know that you don't?

For the first time in many years I’m seeing extremely intelligent engineers getting excited about crypto again. Zcash attracts the right builders and inspires them. Do you want to be rich or do you want freedom?

Banks already reverse transactions and the UX of Venmo or Revolut is far better than anything in crypto. Security councils are exactly why L2s are irrelevant.
the same people who FUD L2s and want them to be illegal are happy to support any number of discretionarily upgradeable smart contract systems it's the same issue either way, the dream of trusting immutable code more than discretionary managers is dying (or dead) the only way

Great observations. Has been a pleasure to watch the UAE grow over the past 10 years and is clearly an ascendant society. Places that build are great!
Reflecting on my time in the UAE TLDR - I'm very impressed There are two things that really stand out to me about UAE 1) They want to build the future. I love the ambition Burj Khalifa The Palm Indoor skiing Deepest pool in the world (epic for diving) Burj Al Arab Yas Island
