Geno Suarez should be the top target now, obviously. But if you can't land him, I don't hate the idea of signing Marcell Ozuna to be the primary DH. It would essentially make Nick Gonzales your SS until Konnor Griffin is ready.

Obviously, there is still far more work to be done. But I really like the platoon of Garcia and Mangum -- two players who're both capable of being everyday guys in the near future. Lowe gives the lineup some established pop. Just need another hitter or two with his profile.

Right now, the lineup looks like this ... C -- Davis/Bart 1B -- Horwitz 2B -- Lowe 3B -- Triolo SS -- Gonzales/Luciano LF -- Garcia/Mangum CF -- Cruz RF -- Reynolds Add one more 20+ homer bat and Konnor Griffin to this, and you might have something decent.

He's also a Jackson Prep alum, the same alma mater as Konnor Griffin. Those two train together in the offseason. I was told they were working out together earlier this week.

Should Jake Mangum be a part of this deal, it would be a quality long-term addition for the Pirates. He batted .296 in 118 games as a rookie and has three option years. As a switch hitter, he'd platoon well with Garcia, if he can't earn his own spot.
