Americans who are smirking at European humiliation in accepting US tariffs don’t get it. This was an alliance that strengthened both sides, and it’s being turned into a zero-sum game by Trump that will weaken both. Trump is burning down the house and these morons are cheering.

Someone commented on this yesterday that building a residence like this would be illegal in most cities. Is that true? And if so, what part of it makes it illegal? Is there a restriction on communal kitchens/cafeterias?.
@mattyglesias I keep expecting someone build something like this, even for non-singles. Loneliness from lack of community is a major cause of unhappiness in the US right now. An apartment with a large, shared cafeteria where you were expected to eat communally 2-3 times a week would help.
