Finally updated my reel
Open for any type of Remote 2D, Clean-Up, and Storyboarding.
(May update the reel once a couple of projects I worked on recently are released)
Netflix's live-action 'AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER' season 1 will reportedly have a budget of more than $15M per episode with a season total of more than $120M

Much like the Spider-Verse example, This is the type of work AI SHOULD be used for, as an actual tool to assist in basic tasks rather than to replace the artist/art completely. Tech bros are to busy trying to be instant artists rather than making painstaking tasks simpler.
I'm looking to pay someone for an AI solution. The job is to help me automate segmentation matting, for use in isolating the teeth and lenses. Below is the ideal result I'm looking for. Email me if you're interested: mail

Chris Meledandri does not agree with Jeffery Katzenberg’s statement on how AI will replace 90% of animation. He believes artists are the most important part of process in creating animation.
The majority of the audience (34%) watching ‘Minions:

’ this weekend was between ages 13 and 17.
Analysts call it an “unusually large showing among teenagers for an animated movie.”

Half Off-Topic, but I honestly wouldn't mind sitting through ads on streamers if they were more like this animation style, or even just animated in general
"It’s just 3 Pictures"
"It's just the title sequence"
"It’s just 2 Posters"
If this shit doesn't stop getting excuses or doesn't get called out to hell and back for being used, then it'll be far worse than just a poster.
No. More. Cartoons. For. Grown. Men. I can't believe how much I need to emphasize this. You should be watching football and not cartoons. Cartoons make people toxic and neglectful and ruins the lives of those around them. Stop. Quit while you're ahead. Listen to me. I know.
11 years ago today, Disney released Winnie the Pooh (which was barely marketed to begin with) the EXACT SAME DAY as the last Harry Potter film, using WTP's poor performance as a reason to give up on 2D a 2nd time.
As a celebration of Disney's 100th anniversary, the filmmakers behind Wish did consider going full 2D in a nod to its roots.
Executive producer/writer Jennifer Lee tells IGN why they ultimately didn't take that approach.
Thank you all so much for joining us to watch

! 🦋 Before we say adios, enjoy this animation test of Mirabel by Head of Animation Renato dos Anjos.
Chuck Jones in his later years considered Bugs Bunny "Trans and Beyond the Binary" in support of the Trans Community. Conservatives would lose their shit if Chuck was alive and said this today.
“When we were young, you could watch cartoons without having to worry.”
— Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) again baselessly claims Disney is injecting sexuality into cartoons while stumping for Nevada Senate candidate Adam Laxalt

Of course, they mostly look they same, That's HIS Art Style (and honestly looks really good in hand drawn form)

What complaints? that it looks like a hack-job flash animation that only kids who grew up watching peppa pig and newgrounds video could be impressed with?
On one hand, it shows just how powerful Indie Animation can get that this can happen, but at what point should Gooseworx and/or Glitch step in and ask "Hey, if you are going to do this stuff with my/our characters, can we can get just a teeny tiny percent of revenue made for it?"
With all the AI shit that was used to scam people at that Wonka event, THIS storyboard gives a look at something that said AI will never do well, Engage people through storytelling
One of the biggest reasons you'll rarely a 2D film is that it's impossible to pull this last minute horse shit that happens in CG on a daily basis.
Figure this crap out during boarding, and if you need last minute additions, push the film back or pay more to actually do it.
As much as people complain about celebrity casting in animated roles, we should remember the times where they actually start giving roles to actual Voice Actors recently
I know some people seem to not like it when films are past 2 hours now, but it's honestly awesome that now an animated film is allowed to even go past 2 hours at all, they've always been arbitrarily stuck at 90-100 minutes, even though Kids sit through Marvel movies all the time
#AcrossTheSpiderVerse
has a reported runtime of 2 hours and 20 minutes, which would make it the longest-ever animated movie made at a Hollywood studio!
Here's how this compares to other

movie runtimes:
We need to give more marketing control to the studios making these films. Especially when marketing teams have no clue how to market original films anymore.
Since this tweet is getting alot of attention, I will also give an honorable mention to movies prior that pushed CG prior to Spider-Verse making Stylized CG popular.
Reminder that Guillermo Del Toro's Stop-Motion Pinocchio releases on Netflix this December
(That is if Netflix doesn't randomly decide to cancel it for no reason like they have been)
Despite having all the money to produce them, executives will never understand how much audience craves more variety of animation; and even when they do, it's barely promoted and behind a constantly raising paywall.
If it gets confirmed the the film has been deleted (I assume they may have and they're waiting for heat to die down before actually saying it), then it's only morally correct that any supposed copies out there should be leaked immediately.
Will Forte has released a statement to the cast & crew of ‘COYOTE VS ACME’, saying it’s unlikely the film will ever be released.
“At the end of the day, the people who paid for this movie can obviously do whatever they want with it. It doesn't mean I have to like it (I fucking…
Note to self: NEVER work on any animated projects for Warner Brothers in the near future.
This dipshit in charge needs to be stopped immediately.

Warner Bros just took a $115M tax write-down on projects, mostly related to the animated film division.
No official word on if ‘COYOTE VS ACME’ is part of that write-down.
(Source: )
‘COYOTE VS ACME’ is now expected to be shelved and deleted forever.
Warner Bros wanted $75M - $80M for the film and rejected offers from Netflix, Amazon & Paramount, refusing to let them counter-offer.

Little Marketing reasons:
1. An excuse not to have a gay main character ever again
2. Make all animation streaming releases only (thankfully, Chepek is out, so that may not be that case anymore)
3. Disney has no clue how to market original films anymore.
Keep
#ReleaseCoyoteVsAcme
trending today.
For any crew members that have access to the film file, nows your time to save the film until a safe time to leak that shit, since I feel Zaslav may not have a change of heart this easily.
It is satisfying that a studio that axed most its animation productions and wrote-off quite a bit of their library of animation, desperately try putting all its money into one film, only to get their ass handed in the 2nd weekend by TWO animated films.
It is satisfying that Kimmel's dumb comment was followed by a win for a film that kids were probably the LEAST interested in seeing out of those 5 films
1. John Lasseter caused a terrible work environment and barely allowed much freedom from other directors, the studio is better off far away from him.
2. Lightyear was THE LAST FILM greenlit by Lasseter, he LITTERALLY made Lightyear happen.

@Benimated
I'm hoping A24, Annapurna, Neon, and other independent distributors can pick up in their animation out put in the future so we can have much more variety than the big places are unwilling to make.
Glad Disney is finally putting their foot down on having LGBT material in their films and refusing to edit it out like they've been doing before.
No clue why Minions 2 is banned though
Genuinely sucks to see artists who work hard for years to get a shred of relevancy, and pilots that people pour their heart and soul into just for a chance, get ignored for this shit.
Apple TV and Amazon Prime are taking huge L's for this one
The upcoming cartoon series Jellystone! looks like the Hanna-Barbera version of ThunderCats Roar, with manic action and simple animation. Watch the first trailer here:
