O literally went to a promo screening for SMURFS over the weekend to avoid the double feature of that and IKWYDLS that every New York critic has to do tomorrow. Imagine the freelancers assigned to write about bofum before their Wednesday embargos. It's exhausting!.
Studios having their press screenings at night before an embargo lift the next morning, and outlets having to scramble to publish asap to stay afloat, are bad for criticism and for movies, and I’m not sure what can be done other than to keep asking studios to budge.

Feeling yung again with the brain rot over really enjoyable movies. NE ZHA 2, SINNERS, DEMON HUNTERS, SUPERMAN. Despite you know how I think of them from a critical sense, I’ve been getting immense joy from fan art and vid edits. People are excited over good cinema again!.

Doing myself a disservice by watching THE SMURFS live-action movie. Why am I being bombarded with ads, ads, and structurally, ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS’ reheated nachos but none of the funny. But Anton Yelchin is clumsy Smurf and man, do I miss him. He had such a lovely voice.

Overheard a guy on the street hyping up SUPERMAN to his pals, clowning on right-wingers calling it woke and saying he’s bout to do his third watch on Sunday. I interjected and said, “AYE SO AM I!” It’s actually nice to be excited bout a good superhero movie these days!.
