is charlie brown’s hair supposed to be implied? all the adaptations go with him being bald and having one singular strand of hair it looks insane, the cg movie one is literally a pube on his bald as head like i can’t imagine this was the original design intention
I keep thinking about that kid who animated a scene for new spiderman and like, yes, I am unwaveringly against child labor but also I feel like there's a difference between exploitation and paying someone to do what they already do for free and also they get to be in a movie
- didn't clean the sink
- didn't clean the handrail
- didn't clean the flusher
- didn't clean the mirror
- didn't clean the door handle
- didn't change the toilet roll
- didnt change the napkins
janitors should be paid one million-bajillion dollars per hour
Niche experience and still haven’t seen the movie but she’s like when you’re goth as a person of color but have to dress normally because parents / money / most ppl around you not reading you that way even if you try
Men will be like "god, the girls in this show are so ugly" and write a 100 page manifesto about the downfall of western civilization and girls will be like "wow, the men in this show are SO ugly" and write fanfiction about them getting dicked down anyway
one thing I CAN say, is that ibis is often VERY responsive to user input and tends to add features based on what users are asking for, the app IS developed in Japan but I think if people make a big enough stink about this, they may listen and roll back the feature
despite all the deep hatred the world has for this orange I feel the person who created them had a silly heart full of early internet whimsy and this checks out, happy for her
"I never pracrticed art because art supplies are expensive" learned to draw by doodling in the corners of my notebooks in ballpoint pen and drew on my phone with my index finger until I was 22, when there is a will and a desire, there is a way
wow I really hope they weren't keeping important documents such as a birth certificate, social security card or id or else they'll be forced to live on the streets even longer no matter how they initially ended up there to begin with !!!
as much as I love animation I feel like this is a prime example of why comics are their own specific medium cuz the posing seems to be the least striking aspect of this page lmao
Literally ripped straight from the comic books onto the screen.
Every single comic book adaptation should inspire to do it like INVINCIBLE / Skybound animation is doing!
(Artwork by Ryan Ottley)
expanding on the color palette thing. this is still so funny like why’d they just randomly make a character neon green it looks insane and so out of place
awesome, now let's compare this to Spider-verse, Arcane, Puss and Boots and Mutant Mayhems use of brush stroke textures for a handcrafted and painterly aesthetic
I think it's really interesting how commercials in the past would just have production value like this all the time cuz they were 2 seconds long and would re-play for years
I feel like no-one ever talks about this, different animators will have completely different approaches to acting and physics and movement and timing
"style" isn't limited to the look of the art itself
People always talk about Miyazaki being callous but I swear tech dudes have no self awareness whatsoever "my goal is to replace you, Isn't that neat?" No, not at all actually
these are beautiful but the fact that they based so many aesthetic choices on African culture just to set the movie somewhere in vauge European inspired princess world, dissaponts me a bit, especially after Encanto and Moana
It was hotter when Harley Quinn and Ivy weren't a couple, but partners in crime out to seduce Bruce Wayne and use his credit cards for an X-mas shopping spree.
the thing about Harley is that she has a lot of iterations but this is a direct result of writers having absolutely no respect for her established character, she started out in a "kids cartoon" and was written with more gravitas there than she has in anything since 😭
there's some animation or book out there with a similar explaination, like dragons are full of methane and they use flint in their gullet or something to light it
The way the dragon from Dungeon Meshi clicks it’s tongue like a lighter to start it’s fire breath soooo cool. And the whole explanation just makes sense like creating gas in its body from decaying waste of its digested food. Kinda like methane. Pretty cool!
like if the only problem is that a child was paid to do something then we need to have a long conversation about child actors, otherwise, this concern is just coming across as envy
that said, I think he should be protected from further offers for similar work
@CoreyBrickley
yeah... this really is it, complete disconnection from the love and passion that surrounds us everyday, you really put into words
also I hope you're doing okay despite everything, you know, as okay as you can be
I feel like ppl see things like this and come to sex / gender essentialist conclusions when the whole issue is that these two groups are raised and conditioned by society so differently that trying to pin point a label or biological difference as the one cause is ridiculous
I say this every time this moviee trends again but I sincerely believe Zack Snyder would have had a more successful and beloved career if he'd decided to stick to animation and yes, this movie was directed by him
I had the privilege of doing a bit of work on
#Invincible
recently, if you’ve been sleeping on the show - give it a watch on Amazon Prime - these storyboards are just an inkling of the awesomeness the team has cooked up!
@manny_oe
I remembered watching a YouTube video explaining why this is a thing or maybe a Tumblr post
something to do with one of the first black heroes having that power and how it's like a mid level ability or whatever, not too weak, not too destructive
oh by the way apparently the "correct" term is "Apollo" or "Adonis" Belt, and although it is associated with a low body fat percentage (as mentioned here) that same shape can still be visible on some people with more abdominal fat, but we usually call them "love handles" then
it's so crazy that this movie is nearly a decade old now, like the imagination and technical craft involved was just insane and it still looks just as fresh and slightly mindblowing as it did when it came out
I think white ppl should learn how too draw black ppl if they're gonna draw black ppl but also just follow black artists or ppl who already draw black ppl and you will never have to encounter this issue again
an Alastor based on
@JaymamonJ
's design
tbr, knowing how this show plans to use this character I rather the voodoo schtick be nixed altogether, but I rarely pass up a chance to do an excercise like this
he's based on an antelope instead of a dear btw
"and you're going to have long hair and you're going to be pretty 🥰🥰" y'all treating your "daughters" like dress-up dolls is how you end up with a broken relationship the moment they turn 18
to put this into perspective; Batman The Animated Series aired from 1992 to 1998 and I don't have enough words in a single tweet to describe how much these are not the same character
