I’m truly proud of my @BlueHoseFB for even being in the position to be screwed out of the FCS playoff, knowing that the selection committee conspired against us. 🫡

🚨New Pub Alert🚨 w/ the Adi Dubash lab at @FurmanU ! In our @FrontiersIn Cell Dev Bio article, we show that desmosomal cadherin Dsg-2 can regulate the ECM in keratinocytes via NF-kB, showing a link between junctional control & inflammatory signaling. https://t.co/2qYycpSwiD

While prepping my intro bio students for an exam, I’ve been telling them: “Think about your HS lit course: It taught you to read for plot points, character development, setting, and overarching themes That thinking will help you way more on my exams than memorizing terms.”

MetaGraph: Searching the world’s DNA at petabase scale Modern biology is drowning in data. Public sequencing archives now hold more than 67 petabases of DNA and RNA—yet, paradoxically, most of it is beyond search. Finding a gene, variant, or viral fragment across this ocean

This is definitely one of those papers that makes you ponder the downstream effects of its findings. In a common trap of thinking signals as either ON or OFF, the @GallowayLabMIT shows how the strength of a signal can affect cell phenotype. Awesome work!
🚨New paper alert!🚨 Cells integrate signals into decision-making. But how do levels of signaling influence cell-fate transitions? Is more always better? Or is there an “optimal” level for cell-fate programming? If we could tune signaling, could optimize production of neurons?

Embracing AI as a supportive tool, not a replacement! While @YoungShull was drafting his grant on cellular stress responses, AI helped uncover data connections and themes in existing research. It's all about enhancing the thought process: https://t.co/NV5l1TCH0C

I’m thankful for the opportunity @ASBMB provided to let me write this Op-Ed article for ASBMB Today. I realize the notion of using generative AI for writing is controversial, but I hope this perspective is helpful https://t.co/J5VwIZPNTQ

This work took me outside my usual basic biology research, but addressing healthcare inequities requires meeting communities where they are. Proud to collaborate with @presbycollege colleagues on this meaningful project! #HealthEquity #RuralHealth #breastcancer

Therefore, we created a train-the-trainer model to significantly boost student confidence in breast cancer education (6.3→8.6 on 10-point scale, p<0.0001), with the biggest gains in screening guidelines and targeted therapies.
