I did not know that Black women had such a presence in the space program. A younger version of myself really could have used that information. I mean REALLY.
One Black woman was figuring out the trajectories to go into space (Katherine Johnson). Another was making the rocket fuel (Mary Sherman Morgan). While another was recruiting diverse astronauts for the space shuttle (Nichelle Nichols/Uhura). Black women and NASA--long history.
